At 18, I received my first credit card with a $4,000 limit. I hadn’t grown up with credit education at home, and I didn’t fully understand the responsibility that came with it. Over time, I accumulated debt, late accounts, and collections without understanding how those decisions could affect me later.
By my thirties, credit was affecting real parts of life: housing, transportation, and opportunities for my family. I paid a credit-repair company for several months. I wanted help, but I also wanted communication and a clear explanation of what was happening. I felt disconnected from the process, so I stopped.
Eventually, some negative information aged off my reports. But information aging off was not the same as understanding credit. Financial setbacks returned, and I realized I needed to learn — not simply wait for things to change.
I began to see credit as a financial skill, not a one-time fix.
In 2024, my mother’s business experienced a major setback. Wanting to help my family pushed me to study credit reporting and consumer rights. I took courses, researched, and kept learning.
Aleylin Solutions grew from that experience. I wanted to offer the clear explanations, honest guidance, and respect I had needed myself. As a mother and Latina entrepreneur, I know financial questions can carry a lot of emotion. There is room to learn without shame or pressure.
My goal is to help people understand what they are looking at, learn how credit works, and make more informed decisions for themselves and their families.
